Stralfors’ Environment, Quality & Security (EQS) group controls the company’s environmental work in all the areas where Stralfors is active. This working group continually sets strict new environmental policies on energy consumption and recycling for the production units of Stralfors Business Area Labels in Sweden and Switzerland.
Stralfors has deemed its environmental work an important integral part of the company. As a result, they have created a group comprising of representatives from the entire organisation for the management of Environment, Quality and Security. The group sets measurable objectives for sustainable development and is responsible for the active environmental work and profile of the Stralfors group of companies.
Stralfors Business Area Labels is well ahead with its environmental work. The unit sends all its waste for recycling, destruction or incineration; not a single gram is left for storage.
- We seek continual improvement of our processes and this is an important part of the aim set by the board of directors, says Clas Svensson, Local Environmental Manager at Stralfors BA Labels’ production site in Astorp. Our EQS report is made public for all the municipalities to see, which enables them to take part in our work.
In the last few years, Stralfors Labels has reduced its energy consumption considerably and cut its air pollution by 75%. The production site in Gothenburg has switched to district heating. The same process is now underway and soon to be completed for the production site in Astorp. Stralfors’ particular focus on businesses within the automotive and pharmaceutical sectors puts high demands on the security of production. Consequently, all waste resulting from the automotive and pharmaceutical production units needs to be shredded and destroyed. Stralfors BA Label’s production of tax registration marks is another process ruled by strict guidelines, where destruction of waste is required.
