Arvid Nilsson identifies correctly
Arvid Nilsson offers one of Scandinavia’s most comprehensive ranges of fasteners, with customers in most segments. The company’s products can be found everywhere, at home in DIY boxes and in the major industries in Scandinavia and the rest of the world. Turnover is DKK 700 million and the company has over 300 employees.
One major challenge the company faces is to keep its 6,000,000 labels for 53,000 different articles from 110 supplies in order every year. It means creating a uniform and correct image with a perfect content. It also means that the right label has to be printed in a simple way at the subsuppliers.
After a pilot study Strålfors prepared an overall solution to deliver, install and maintain a labelling system adapted to Arvid Nilsson’s operations. The solution involves creating labels for respective articles at Arvid Nilsson’s head office.
The labels are transferred in real time via a network connection to each subsupplier, which in a simple way can then print the correct label for the product. “The Strålfors solution gives us much better control over what the product looks like and its labelling. This is especially important, because the quality requirements are continuously increasing in the industry”, says Claus Andersen, marketing manager at Arvid Nilsson. ”Our suppliers are very positive about the solution, because it means the opportunity to save both time and money!”
