Strategic and innnovative partner
The business area, Graphic design, is a strategic and innovative partner, which with it total solutions offer customers trouble-free supply of graphic products and services. Graphic design has specialised operations in the Nordic region, France and Great Britain.

Focus
The business area offer a large spectrum of products and services and is aimed primarily toward the customer segments; gaming companies, the pharmaceutical industry, printing centres and service bureaus and also to larger users of forms.

Customers
The customer's specific demands and prerequisites are in focus and are regularly followed-up through systematic customer contacts that are adapted to every individual customer. The Satisfied Customer Index is measured regularly.

Processes
All proccesses within the business area are identified, improved and documented. The processes ensure that the customer's demands are met, that applicable legal requirements and provisions are followed and also that Strålfors' own demands for a sustainable development are satisfied. Delivery security has been a focus during the year. This is ensured through the appropriate processes, optimal production techniques and the continuous work with short lead-times. Internal auditors are an active and important way to carry out result-oriented follow-ups of the functionality of the processes.

Quality aspects
Through efforts in the gaming and pharmaceutical industries, the demands for security and quality have increased. Deliveries and product quality are monitored through regular measurements and follow-ups of financial key figures, delivery security and productivity. For every machine, there is a goal for productivity and degree of utilisation that is measured, followed-up and compared internally. All complaints, both external and internal, are followed-up and corrective actions are taken.

Environmental aspects
The business area works intensively to minimise spills. In the productivity demands, specified goals are included for spills. Recycling stations are located throughout the production area. IPA-usage (Isopropanol) has been reduced substantially and nearly all machines run without producing IPA. The follow-up on environmental performance is carried out with strategic suppliers.
Graphic deliveries are included in Strålfors' work with sustainable transports. On those routes where it is possible, paper is now transported by train instead of truck.
The graphic operation in Ljungby is included in the authorisation for the entire Ljungby operation, which involves demands for safe chemical handling, emissions of solutions and the limitation of unforeseen emissions.

Risk management and security aspects
Security demands are stringent. Entry and visiting procedures are well-defined and adherence is followed-up with random controls, etc. The physical security as well as IT security fulfil the company's and customers' demands for a secure operation.
The production units function as a back-up for each other. All products can be produced at a minumum of two locations, which have been tested with full satisfaction. All operations are followed-up through risk management overviews. Internal controls are carried out methodically for the purpose of preventing risks and accidents.

Certifications
The operations in the Nordic region, Great Britain and France are all certified in accordance with ISO 9001. The units in Sweden and Great Britain are environmentally certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and projects are underway for the certification of the French units. Strålfors has one certified printing operation for the production of documents of value. The business area's units in Scandinavia have licenses for environmental labelling of printed items with the Swan symbol.

Competence and organisational development
Identification, training and follow-ups of employee competence is carried out methodically based on a strategic sustainability perspective.
Personnel's security awareness and knowledge is important. Both the business area and customers have very strict security demands on the operation and employees. Security education is carried out. The specific quality demands on pharmaceutical products are safeguarded through information and focused education. In addition, education within Lean Manufacturing is carried out for the operation in Great Britain. A comprehensive competence inventory has been carried out. Education within GMP – Good Manufacturing Practice – is held annually. In 2005, the employee survey ”Great place to work” was carried out. The result and measures taken were followed-up with a new survey in 2006. The majority of the internal auditors within the business area have been educated in the implementation of value adding overviews. Branding education has also been carried out.

Efforts in 2006
In 2006, Graphic design shall carry out a new measurement of the Satisfied Customer Index. The new organisation for the sales corps, which will take effect in early 2006, means that the work with following-up and supporting the customer will be strengthened. To make the business area's operation system more user friendly, it is being made interactive and accessible on the company's Intranet. Focus on delivery security is being maintained. The work with Lean Manufacturing is continuing in Great Britain and Sweden. During the spring of 2006, environmental and work environment education was held. Leadership training, further education of production personnel and the training ”Graphics driving license” for employees in customer centers, will be carried out. Additional efforts within pharmaceuticals and gaming will be implemented in early 2006 with a totally new production line. Follow-up and efforts regarding health, fitness and attendance, as well as the work with fighting noise pollution and improved ergonomics continues.
