A fund with a clear conscience

Instead of paying climate compensation, which does nothing to reduce a company’s own emissions, money from the Climate Fund is being spent on investments in Posten Norden and thereby also Stralfors’ own, operations.
The Climate Fund aims to take more action on the environment while at the same time reducing the environmental impact. This can involve buying eco cars sooner than planned, replacing older vehicles or improving energy efficiency in premises.
“We’ve chosen to earmark money as funds for environmental and climate improvement measures within our operations so that we can really reduce our environmental impact. It’s important to emphasise that it’s also about initiatives to improve the environment, even though it’s called the Climate Fund,” says Erica Kronhöffer.
Employees in the Group can put forward suggestions for implementation in the business. If the suggestions are in line with the Climate Fund’s intentions, the budget is adjusted to allow the measures to be implemented.
“There’s been tremendous interest from all over the organisation. In 2010, 39 suggestions were approved, and 14 of those were from Stralfors. It’s really great that the Climate Fund has also had an impact beyond the Swedish border,” says Erica Kronhöffer.
The Climate Fund will continue to operate as before during 2011.
